Aim. Formin-binding protein 1 (FNBP1) is an adaptor protein of the F-BAR family that plays a crucial role in the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton and membrane dynamics. Methods. Bioinformatic analysis of FNBP1 expression across multiple cancer types was performed using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and the Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) project. Immunofluorescence analysis of FNBP1 localization in K562 cells was conducted followed by confocal microscopy. Results. Bioinformatic analysis based on TCGA and GTEx datasets indicates the potential clinical relevance of FNBP1 as a biomarker and therapeutic target, as its expression correlates with patient prognosis and the level of immune infiltration. FNBP1 was predominantly localized in the cytoplasm, with partial accumulation in the perinuclear region, suggesting its involvement in vesicular trafficking, membrane remodeling, and cytoskeletal organization. Conclusions. The obtained data are consistent with the multifunctional role of FNBP1 in cytoskeletal dynamics and membrane trafficking, and further highlight its importance in cell migration and invasion, supporting its potential as a promising therapeutic target in malignancies.
