Mukhadooshika (Acne vulgaris) is a common chronic inflammatory disorder of the pilosebaceous units, affecting mainly young adults. Ayurveda classifies it as a Kshudra Roga arising from vitiated Kapha, Vata and Rakta, with Kleda accumulation and Srotomukharodha as central events. Modern treatments often cause recurrence and adverse effects, necessitating safer options. Aims & Objectives: To evaluate efficacy of Bhedana with Katuki Choorna followed by Mukhadooshikahara Lepa in managing acne. Materials and Methods: This interventional pre- and post-test study, without a control group, enrolled 31 subjects aged 18 to 40 years. On day 0, Katuki Choorna (2gm with warm water) was given as the Bhedana Dravya. From day 1 to 14, Mukhadooshikahara Lepa (Lodhra, Vacha, Sarshapa, Saindhava), mixed with water, was applied topically twice daily. Severity was assessed on Days 0, 8, 15 and 30 using the Global Acne Grading System (GAGS) and the Plewig-Kligman scale. Results: Repeated measures ANOVA showed significant reductions in GAGS scores, from 61.84±55.54 on Day 0 to 32.84±39.41 on day 30, and in Plewig-Kligman grades, from 1.677±0.702 to 1.226±0.497. Safety remained normal. Conclusion: The combined approach offers a safe, effective and cost-effective acne protocol through Samprapti Vighatana.
