This study examines the educational experiences of international students enrolled in higher education institutions in Adana, Türkiye. Using a qualitative case study design, the study collected data through semi-structured interviews and analyzed them using thematic analysis. The findings show that language barriers were the most significant challenge for participants, particularly in the early stages of their academic journeys, affecting both academic engagement and social integration. Although international student offices were generally perceived as providing valuable support, some participants reported limited communication and interaction with these units. In addition, rising living costs and insufficient scholarship opportunities emerged as major factors contributing to students’ financial difficulties. Despite these challenges, most participants demonstrated high levels of academic achievement and expressed overall satisfaction with their educational experiences. The findings suggest that Türkiye offers a supportive academic and intercultural environment for international students. However, enhancing language support services, strengthening financial assistance mechanisms, and expanding initiatives that promote social integration are essential to improving international students’ educational experiences. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on international student mobility by providing evidence-based recommendations for higher education institutions and policymakers seeking to develop more inclusive and effective support systems.
