Caecopilumnus hirsutus Borradaile, 1902 is recorded for the first time from Korean waters, representing the first record of the family Acidopsidae in the Korean brachyuran fauna. The species was collected from a sandy bottom at depths of 27-35 m off Jeju Island, Korea. This record adds a new family to the Korean goneplacoid fauna and extends the known occurrence of Acidopsidae to Korean waters.
