This MRV4SOC Factsheet presents the project’s contribution to developing a more harmonised and standardised Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) framework for the European land sector. The factsheet examines existing European policy requirements, MRV methodologies and voluntary carbon market standards, highlighting the challenges associated with fragmented approaches to carbon accounting and verification. It introduces the project’s work towards an integrated EU MRV 2.0 framework, combining soil measurements, modelling, socio-economic evidence and technical recommendations. The factsheet also outlines the proposed digital architecture of the MRV4SOC Knowledge Hub, designed to facilitate access to project data, methodologies and services. The proposed framework aims to support greater transparency, comparability and consistency in carbon farming monitoring and verification across Europe.
