Background: Congenital heart disease is the most common congenital problem in children. It causes significant childhood morbidity and mortality which could be reduced by early detection and proper management. Objectives: The objective of the study was to see the clinical & echocardiographic pattern of congenital heart disease among the hospital admitted children of a tertiary care hospital in Cumilla at present situation. Methods: This cross sectional observational study was done at Comilla Medical College Hospital from April 2024 to March 2025 among 100 patient with CHD who were diagnosed by color Doppler echocardiography aging from 1st day of life. Results: Acyanotic CHD was the most common CHD. VSD was the commonest acyanotic CHD (38%) followed by ASD (33%) & PDA (14%). Commonest cyanotic CHD was Tetralogy of Fallots (TOF) (4%) followed by TGA (2%). Male outnumbers female child. Most of the patients were diagnosed during infancy (59%). Common sign symptoms were respiratory distress (90%) cough (77%), fever (65%), cyanosis (41%), recurrent chest infection (70%) and murmur with or without thrill (60%). Conclusion: Ventricular septal defect (VSD) was the most common acyanotic CHD while Tetralogy of Follot (TOF) was the most frequent cyanotic CHD in this study. We hope that the result of this study will provide a database for future investigation on the pattern/distribution of CHD in tertiary hospital and raise the awareness about the significance of their early detection and surgical interventions.
