Identifier Names, Comprehension and Code Metrics: Literature Review

The first step consisted of an automated search using five digital libraries and one broad indexing service: Computer Society Digital Library, ACM, Google Scholar, BASE, CORE, and SCOPUS.All searches were based on title, keywords, and abstract.The searches took place in August 2023.For all the sources except SCOPUS and IEEE, a set of simple search strings was used and aggregated.The searches were as follows:Google Scholar, BASE, and CORE:• "software engineering identifiers"• "software engineering identifier"• "software engineering naming"• "software engineering names"• "software engineering code lexicon"
