Highlights Gay and lesbian adults cohabit longer before marriage and marry at older ages than heterosexual adults. Bisexual women in same-sex relationships marry nearly six years later and cohabit about 1.5 years longer before marriage than bisexual women in different-sex relationships, who marry younger than any other group. Age at cohabitation varies little across groups, and differences by partner sex among bisexual men are not statistically significant.
