Our paper analyzes the effect of perceived restorativeness on responsible tourism behavior while also examining the mediating role of subjective life satisfaction and the moderating role of personal values. Data were collected from 390 tourists using a quantitative, cross-sectional research design. The findings indicate that perceived restorativeness has a significant and positive effect on both subjective life satisfaction and responsible tourism behavior. However, the mediating role of subjective life satisfaction and the moderating role of personal values were not supported. The results suggest that restorative destination experiences influence responsible tourism behavior primarily through a direct experiential pathway. This study contributes to the responsible tourism literature by highlighting the importance of tourists’ psychological experiences and perceptions of restorative destination environments.
