We examine a continuum approach for determining the success or failure of asymptotic tracking in a pursuer–evader model. To this end, we revisit multi-agent pursuer–evader dynamics that have been studied in the existing literature, and propose a corresponding continuum model by considering a formal continuum limit. Our main objective is to establish a suitable sufficient framework for verifying the success or failure of asymptotic tracking based on initial data, system parameters, and kernel functionals in this continuum model.
