The prepared phthalocyanine derivatives and their polymeric analogues were investigated using FT-IR, ¹H NMR, and UV–visible spectroscopy. GPC measurements were available for the metal-free and nickel-containing polymeric products and indicated narrow apparent molar-mass distributions. The antibacterial activity of polymeric compounds 8–14 was evaluated against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli using the agar diffusion method. Reported inhibition zones ranged from 10 to 17 mm for S. aureus and from 10 to 18 mm for E. coli. These observations support further investigation of the materials, while additional analytical evidence is needed to establish the proposed A₃B composition and purity.
