Enterobacter hormaechei is increasingly threatened as an opportunistic and nosocomial pathogen due to its ability to develop resistance to many antibiotics. It considers a globally growing health problem, most notably in communities of under developed countries, where control and evaluation systems are still limited and incomplete. The present study aimed to analyze the complete genome sequence of Enterobacter hormaechei RAM MAlQtan 7980, isolated from a patient hospitalized in burns and plastic surgery in Mosul/ Iraq. The whole genome of E. hormaechei RAM MAlQtan7980 has been sequenced using the illumina novaSeq 6000 platform. The Comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance Database (CARD) program was performed to identify the antibiotic resistance genes in the genome. The genome sequencing of E. hormaechei RAM MAlQtan7980 reported an overall length of 5,050,101 bp, a GC content of 54.93%, and 4,881 coding sequences. The results identified 13 resistance genes toward various antibiotic categories, covered β-lactam (blaCTX-M-15, blaTEM-1B, blaOXA-1, blaNDM-5, blaACT-16), aminoglycosides (aac(6')-Ib-cr, aac(3)-IIa, aph(6)-Id, aph(3'')-Ib), fluoroquinolone (qnrB1), sulfonamide (sul2) and diaminopyrimidine (dfrA14), which coincided with phenotypic resistance pattern. The finding of isDDH indicated that E. hormaechei RAM MAlQtan7980 was strongly linkage to E. hormaechei subsp. xiangfangensis LMG 27195, with isDDH value of 93.8%. The whole genomic sequence and the raw sequence data of E. hormaechei RAM MAlQtan7980 have been deposited in DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession numbers JBMAMD000000000 and PRJNA1233587, respectively. The present study provides crucial data concerning the genome of E. hormaechei RAM MAlQtan7980, isolated from a local hospital in Iraq, and may serve as a reference for epidemiological and comparative studies or investigations in the future.
