This case report describes fetal echocardiography techniques that can aid in the challenging prenatal diagnosis of an aortopulmonary window.
An aortopulmonary window (APW) is a rare congenital cardiac defect characterized by an abnormal communication in the aortopulmonary septum, resulting in a left-to-right shunt. An APW can be challenging to diagnose by fetal imaging. We present a case of an APW diagnosed by fetal echocardiography and describe imaging techniques that can be used to aid with diagnosis.
