“Chemistry Organic” category stands at the confluence of materials science, life sciences, and green sustainability. Therefore, the rapid diversification of this literature has made the systematic identification of influential research themes increasingly important. This study presents a cross-sectional bibliometric analysis of 568 Highly Cited Papers and Hot Papers published from 2014 to 2025. Derwent Data Analyzer, VOSviewer, and Pajek were employed to examine the intellectual and thematic structure of the selected literature through keyword co-occurrence, cited-reference co-citation, and bibliographic coupling analyses. Ten prominent research themes were identified and organized into three broad domains. The materials science domain comprised nanocellulose materials and antimicrobial biomaterials. The natural products and drug discovery domain included natural products, drug molecules, and bioactive polysaccharides. The oranic synthesis methodology domain encompassed C-H functionalization, conjugate addition and cyclization, photocatalytic reactions, asymmetric synthesis, and efficient and sustainable synthetic strategies. Citation results are reported only as descriptive patterns among 20 highly connected papers selected for each theme and are not interpreted as theme-level growth or life-cycle evidence. Because the selected paper is defined by dynamic citation-based Web of Science labels, the findings characterize an influential, citation-selected subset rather than the complete organic chemistry literature. This study provides methodological references for understanding the developmental trajectory in “Chemistry Organic”, as well as decision support for selecting scientific research topics and organizing the discipline.
