This paper proposes a solution to the fault‐tolerant consensus problem in linear semi‐Markov jump multi‐agent systems (MASs) by designing a quantity‐limited controller (QLC). Initially, the article establishes the mapping relationship between the system modes and controllers using a stationary probability distribution. Therefore, controllers are constructed in a limited quantity to address the practical issue of mismatch between the number of controllers and the number of system modes. In addition, to account for potential actuator failures, such as mechanical, electrical, and software failures, the paper integrates fault‐tolerant control strategies into limited‐quantity controllers. This integration facilitates the solution to the leader‐following consensus problem in MASs. Ultimately, the article demonstrates the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed approach over linear F‐18 aircraft model.
