The seaboard of New France represented on the World Map charted by Vesconte de Maggiolo in 1527 is generally identified as North America. This assumption is accepted despite the fact that the cartography does not match the geography. This article proves this assumption is erroneous and reveals the true seaboard explored by Giovanni da Verrazano in 1524.
