In Brazil, where approximately 140,000 patients depend on hemodialysis, virtual learning environments (VLEs) represent a promising educational technology for training nursing technicians. Although VLEs are innovative, research on the development and usability of platforms specifically for arteriovenous fistula (AVF) cannulation training remains scarce. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the usability of a VLE, “Venocurso,” for AVF cannulation training. This technological development study followed the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation model and the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning. Content was validated by 14 nursing experts, and navigability was validated by 12 information technology specialists. Usability was then evaluated by 53 nursing technicians using the System Usability Scale. The mean content and navigability validation indices were 0.94 and 0.85, respectively. The mean usability score was 85.6. The VLE’s content validity, navigability, and usability were validated. It is a promising tool for AVF cannulation training, and future studies are recommended.
