Plant-derived ingredients are being explored for their use in cosmetic formulations. This study involved preparing a herbal lipstick using Hibiscus rosa-sinensis flower extract and Moringa oleifera seed oil. The flower extract served as a natural colouring agent, while the seed oil was included to improve lip conditioning. Four formulations (F1–F4) were developed using beeswax, castor oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil ,cocoa butter, vitamin E, and rose oil. Each formulation was assessed for physical properties, melting point, spreadability, pH, water resistance, stability, skin compatibility and antibacterial activity. Among the prepared batches, F3 showed the most desirable properties, including a smooth texture, reddish-pink shade, good spreadability, a melting range of 61–63°C, and a pH of 6.5. No irritation was observed during the preliminary patch evaluation and antibacterial activity was reported under the study conditions. These results indicate the potential of hibiscus extract and drumstick seed oil as ingredients in herbal lip cosmetics.
