This study aims to describe the types of conjunctive subordinations found in Emmanuel Macron’s speeches and to analyze their functions in constructing meaning and argumentative structure. This research is motivated by the importance of understanding conjunctions of subordination in French grammar, particularly for understanding logical relationships among propositions, such as cause, time, purpose, condition, and comparison. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method informed by Anne-Catherine Simon’s (2018) theory. The data were obtained from nine official speeches delivered by Emmanuel Macron on July 13 during the 2017–2025 period, accessed through the official Élysée website, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that 120 instances of conjunctions de subordination were identified, consisting of cause with 50 occurrences (41.67%), time with 31 occurrences (25.83%), condition/hypothesis with 16 occurrences (13.33%), comparison with 13 occurrences (10.83%), and purpose with 10 occurrences (8.33%). Cause is the most dominant category because it strengthens argumentation and provides explanations in political speeches. Overall, conjunctive subordinations play an important role in building coherence, logical structure, and argumentative strength in Emmanuel Macron’s speeches.
