A BSTRACT Chylothorax is an uncommon, but well-recognized postoperative complication, most often encountered after the thoracic surgeries. Its occurrence following abdominal or retroperitoneal surgery without chylous ascites is exceedingly rare. We report a pediatric case of isolated postoperative chylothorax developed after retroperitoneal surgery, successfully managed conservatively.
