Summary Statement In rice ( Oryza sativa L.), the DOGL3 protein maintains seed dormancy under heat stress by interacting with the chaperone Hsp20, which stabilizes DOGL3 and prevents pre‐harvest sprouting. Unlike its Arabidopsis homolog DOG1 , DOGL3 expression is induced by heat via transcription factors ONAC129, and HSFA2e.
