Descriptive research profiles the behavioral and emotional strengths of preschool children using the Preschool Behavioral and Emotional Rating Scale (PreBERS) based on teacher ratings. The sample comprised 139 children aged 4 to 7 years (M = 5.61; SD = 0.90) from three schools in Jakarta, Bogor, and South Tangerang. The mean raw total score was 80.21 (SD = 5.47) out of a maximum of 84, and 38.1% of children obtained the maximum total score. Four subscales were close to their maximum: emotional regulation (M = 24.55 of 26), school readiness (M = 24.68 of 26), social confidence (M = 17.37 of 18), and family involvement (M = 13.61 of 14). Internal consistency was high for the total score (KR-20 = 0.91) and lowest for family involvement (KR-20 = 0.68). Total scores tended to be higher in older children (ρ = 0.22; p = 0.008), especially on family involvement. Total scores differed across schools (p < 0.001) but not by sex (p = 0.81). The findings provide an initial profile of children's strengths; interpretation against norms requires verification of the response scale.
