Summary A study was made concerning the relationship between humoral antibody titers and intracerebral resistance in monkeys infected orally with Type 1 poliomyelitis virus. It was found that immunity to intracerebral challenge in those monkeys with little or no antibody was significantly higher than in comparable controls. The possible significance of this observation is discussed and speculated upon.
