Presentation of CaseA 23-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of painful cutaneous lesions.He was well until five years earlier, when he experienced painful swelling of the feet and bouts of "hives" characterized by the appearance on the feet and ankles of symmetrical red, raised spots; the lesions became pruritic and painful and were overlain by a patchy purplish erythema.
