Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) with the Medtronic-Corevalve bioprosthesis

Aortic valve replacement (AVR) with conventional open stented bioprostheses

Incidence of prosthesis-patient mismatch (P-PM)surrogate

TAVI with the Corevalve bioprosthesis may offer a favorable profile regarding prosthesis-patient mismatch compared to conventional surgical AVR, with device positioning playing a key role.

Abstract

The incidence of P-PM following TAVI with the Corevalve bioprosthesis is compared favourably with that seen after AVR with conventional open stented bioprostheses and its occurrence is influenced by device positioning.
