Mrs. Peterkin was Associate Administrator, Human Nutrition Information Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she assisted in the administration of a research program in nutrition monitoring and nutrition education. Mrs. Peterkin is the author of over 100 publications and scientific papers and conducted research at USDA for over 30 years. In 1984, she was awarded USDA's Superior Service Award for her work. She retired in October 1987. Dr. Rizek serves as Director of the Nutrition Monitoring Division, Human Nutrition Information Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. He has responsibility for directing the USDA Nationwide Food Consumption Surveys and the USDA National Nutrient Data Bank. In 1987, Dr. Rizek received USDA's Superior Service Award for initiating and conducting the Continuing Survey of Food Intakes by Individuals—the nation's first ongoing dietary survey. Mrs. Tippett is a home economist with the Human Nutrition Information Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture. She serves as coordinator for the Nationwide Food Consumption Survey reports. From 1972 to 1985, Mrs. Tippett was editor of USDA's Family Economics Review.
