Some of the numerous biochemical substances that have been identified in blood platelets are as- sociated with known platelet functions (1), but the role of many others is not clear (2). Since most previous investigations had been carried out on whole platelets, we initiated a study of enzymes and coagulation properties of isolated subcellular platelet components.
