Does preoperative use of ACEI/ARB increase the risk of postoperative acute kidney injury in patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery?
Preoperative use of ACEI/ARBs is associated with a 27.6% increased risk of postoperative acute kidney injury in cardiovascular surgery patients, suggesting that withholding these medications prior to surgery may be beneficial.
Preoperative use of ACEI/ARB is associated with a 27.6% higher risk for AKI postoperatively. Stopping ACEI or ARB before cardiac surgery may reduce the incidence of AKI.
