In recent years, thre has been a rapid increase in the number of electronic toys and toys linked to electronic media that are being marketed for infants and toddlers. This article explores what this latest trend might mean for the development, behaviour and play of very young children. It concludes that these toys can be harmful in both the short and long term and recommends strategies for counter-acting the potential problems.
