What are the independent predictors of long-term all-cause death in elderly patients over 80 years hospitalized with heart failure?
Elderly patients over 80 years hospitalized with heart failure from the Japanese Cardiac Registry of Heart Failure in Cardiology (JCARE-CARD)
all-cause deathhard clinical
Lower eGFR, lower BMI, male sex, sustained VT/VF, and diuretic use are independent predictors of long-term all-cause mortality in heart failure patients over 80 years old.
Among patients hospitalized with HF, elderly patients had a worse prognosis than younger patients. Lower eGFR, lower BMI, male sex, sustained VT/VF, and diuretic use were independent predictors for all-cause death in these patients with higher risk.
