Between the ages of 21 and 40 years an apparently normal woman was delivered at term of four infants of average birth weight. The pregnancies, parturitions and puerperia were uneventful. During the final pregnancy, excellent prenatal care had begun at 12 weeks, physical and laboratory data being within normal limits except for a hemoglobin of 76 per cent (Sahli) and a borderline blood pressure of 150/80 mm Hg throughout.
