The problem of processing and transmitting the socially significant information in the age of entertainment is acute and needs some creative solutions. Under the socially significant information we understand the kind of information which is produced by a human being in the process of his activity and is directed to the achievement of his goals. Mass media and communication product consumer makes decisions about the relevance of the information perceived with quite a fast speed index. A specialist in mass media and mass communication faces a problem of “packing” the socially significant information in such a form which may become relevant to its consumers. Nowadays the social information is transmitted mostly through the new communication platforms using different sign systems. The goal of the article is to demonstrate the abilities of modern “tainment”-technologies (infotainment, businesstainment, politainment, sciencetainment, edutainment, culturetainment, socialtainment, arttainment) while processing the socially significant information.
