Silicon photonics has emerged as a key technology for scaling high speed optical interconnects through miniaturization and increase in performance while reducing power per Gbps. In this paper, we will discuss critical silicon photonics technology building blocks and present a technology roadmap that enable transceivers 400Gbps and beyond.
