Interpretation of Legal Verses According to the Shafi'i School through Ibn Hajar's "Tuhfat al-Muhtaj" and Al-Ramli's "Nihayat al-Muhtaj": A comparative analytical study

The research focused on interpreting legal verses from the book of purification in Tuhfat al-Muhtaj by Ibn Hajar al-Haytami and Nihayat al-Muhtaj by al-Ramli, conducting a comparative analytical study of their interpretations. The significance of this research lies in its amalgamation of interpretations of legal verses from two fundamental texts, which are essential in understanding the relied-upon sources in Shafi'i jurisprudence, namely the conclusions of the eminent scholars Ibn Hajar and al-Ramli. This provides insight into the interpretation of legal verses within the framework of Shafi'i jurisprudence. The researcher arrived at several conclusions, including the following: Jurisprudential texts often contain interpretations of legal verses and precise deductions that may not be found in many traditional exegesis texts. The profound expertise of Ibn Hajar and al-Ramli in the science of interpretation, as well as their mastery in various fields beyond Shafi'i jurisprudence, is evident through their discussions on interpreting verses and responding to objections raised against their interpretations.
