All teachers know the power of "visual understanding" and the literature on this topic is overwhelming. In this article, we focus on the visual image of linear algebra and elaborate on two related references 3, 4 that are insightful but perhaps not well known. We aim to help the worlds of math education and math research to join forces in order to achieve what we all aim for: to explain mathematics in a way that truly helps to make it attractive and fascinating and worthy of our best efforts over a lifetime.
