You have accessJournal of UrologyBladder Cancer: Epidemiology 33.8% of patients were categorized as ASA ≥3, and pathologic non-organ-confined disease was found in 51.3% of patients. Either 30-day mortality (APC -8.63, slope p<0.001) or 2-year mortality rates (APC -5.8, slope p=0.02) displayed a trend towards significant decrease over time. On multivariable Cox regression analysis, pT stage was the only predictor of 2-year mortality, while baseline eGFR <60 ml/min and ASA score ≥3 showed a trend towards significance. At cross-tab analysis, these variables were homogeneously distributed along the years. CONCLUSIONS: In the last 20-years both 30-day and 2-year mortality rates of patients treated with RC displayed a significant decrease over time; these differences seem to be not related to baseline patients comorbidities and tumor stage. Further investigation on nationwide databases are needed to confirm the hypothesis that a higher quality of care has been delivered along the last two decades.
