The rise in population, human activity, rapid technological advancement, and rapid urbanization are several issues in our residential environments, including a lack of cultural identity, social sustainability, and excessive energy consumption in building designs. Those mentioned above significantly affect the three pillars of sustainability (environmental, economic, and social). Social sustainability still needs to be developed more than other sustainability pillars, even though a growing body of research has covered the variety of sustainability lessons and how to apply them. The main aim of this research study is to assess the social sustainability indicators in a new contemporary housing area in Bahrain (New East Al Hidd Area) based on the social sustainability aspect. This research will adopt the quantitative research method by conducting a survey questionnaire for the residents of New East Al Hidd houses with the author's observation. From this point of view, this research study will focus on three key issues: cultural identity, social interaction/quality of space, and health and safety measures.
