Liang Feng is an assistant professor in the Thomas Lord Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University and the American Chemical Society's first sustainability star. ACS has begun a campaign to recognize scientists from the global ACS community whose work and engagement encourage sustainability. This encouragement might be expressed through transforming labs into sustainable workspaces; collaborating with students and postdoctoral scholars on creating a positive environmental impact through teaching, service, or outreach; or other ways of showing one's passion for solving humanity's grand challenges.
