The education gap is a serious problem in Indonesia that can hamper social mobility and exacerbate inequality. This journal article discusses the impact of the education gap on social mobility and the efforts that can be made to overcome it. The research shows that the education gap has a significant negative impact on social mobility in Indonesia. Individuals with low education have less chance of getting a good job and high income, so they are trapped in a cycle of poverty and find it difficult to get out of their situation. The education gap can also lead to social tension and political instability. This article proposes some efforts to address the education gap and improve social mobility in Indonesia. These efforts include; 1) Improving access to education for all children, including children from poor families, girls and children from minority groups. 2) Improving the quality of education in public schools by providing qualified teachers, improving school infrastructure and developing a more relevant curriculum. 3) Promote equality of opportunity through affirmative action programs and scholarships. By addressing educational disparities and improving social mobility, developing countries can achieve more inclusive and equitable economic and social development.
