The Fate of Russia’s Spatial Development Strategy: Views of Regional Management Practitioners and the Scientific Community

The article presents the results of an express study conducted by a survey in the form of a questionnaire, the purpose of which was to identify and compare the opinions of regional management practitioners and experts of the scientific community on the effectiveness of the current Spatial Development Strategy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025, the degree of its influence on various processes of regional management, the relevance of such as strategic planning document in principle, and the provisions of the current Strategy, in particular. The peculiarities of the both sides views on the issues been raised and, at the same time, the consistency of their opinions revealed the great potential of their interaction in substantiating and developing strategic planning documents during the study indicate.
