On traditional (copper) and fiber-optic communication lines, grounding is installed to protect the lives of workers and subscribers, as well as equipment and communication cables. For better protection, the grounding resistance should be low. Therefore, grounding is performed by a multi-electrode circuit of parallel connected single earth electrodes. The grounding resistance of a single earthing electrode depends on its dimensions (length and diameter), the depth of the earthing electrode and the resistivity of the soil. The research and calculation estimation of the change in the value of grounding resistance of a single earthing electrode have been carried out. The results are analyzed and recommendations are given.
