This study was conducted as a preliminary research with the purpose of developing and implementing a multicultural education program for parents in multicultural and non-multicultural families. An FGI(Focus Group Interview) was conducted with 12 educational experts to design a multicultural education program for parents, resulting in 5 major themes and 17 sub-themes. The 5 major themes are ‘Current State of Schools Regarding Multiculturalism,’ ‘Parental Participation in Education,’ ‘Strategies for Designing a Multicultural Education Program for Parents,’ ‘Strategies to Encourage Parental Participation in Multicultural Education,’ and ‘Expected Educational Outcomes.’ Based on these findings, the following recommendations were made for the design and implementation of a multicultural education program for parents. First, it is important to consider motivating parents as a key factor. Second, it is necessary to design a multicultural education program linked to children’s education that reflects the characteristics of parents. Third, the program should be designed in a way that ensures multicultural parents are not excluded and can participate together.
