This research focuses on revealing the peculiarities of poetics of narrative in fantasy fictional discourse namely in K. Ishiguro’s novel “The Buried Giant” which, in our view, belongs to metamodernism. The main objective of this research is to elaborate methodology aimed at defining the main categories of narrative and poetics of the novel, establishing the distinct features of metamodernism in the novel under analysis as well as explicating its linguistic means and narrative devices for creating unique poetics of narrative which ensures strong emotional response and unfading interest among the readers.
