This article discusses the issues related to the theoretical generalization and methodological conceptualization of the problem of formation of the individual’s worldview in the modern information society. The peculiarity of the latter, determined by a high degree of social virtualization, is the active dynamics of the role positions of the subject of social relations in the conditions of publicity. At the empirical level we have revealed that the leading role identification for adolescents are: ethno-national role identification, socio-professional, family and gender. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that in such individuals the general level of information dependence increas-es, associated with both excessive saturation with content, and with the improvement of information and com-munication tools and their availability to the average user. Internet addiction in modern socio-cultural conditions is a kind of information addiction, which, for ordinary participants of the information society, turns into a certain norm of life in the civilized world.
