The article examines the main areas of government support measures for integrating new regions into the Russian economy and ensuring their competitiveness. The main factors that determine the need for special government support for industry in new regions are studied. The practice of providing consulting services through My Business centers, as well as a preferential credit program for small and medium businesses, is considered. A classification of support measures is proposed, including tax policy, financial support, the creation of free economic zones and advisory assistance.
