The article identifies the potential of informational and educational activities and foreign language instruction in shaping civic and patriotic competences among education seekers. It characterizes the approaches to cultivating national identity, engaging youth with historical and cultural heritage, and nurturing a conscious civic stance. The role of the educator is revealed as an agent of patriotic education through the integration of linguistic, cultural, and value-oriented components. The article outlines the experience of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University in fostering patriotic awareness among learners, particularly through implementing academic courses, outreach initiatives, and student club activities. The significance of combining an intercultural approach with value-based orientations linked to national identity is emphasized. Examples of educational and civic outreach are provided, including Youth Club of Oriental Cultures meetings. Didactic strategies are examined using English and Chinese as cases, highlighting the relevance of an open digital educational environment as a space for cultivating patriotic values and worldview development. The article reviews practices of patriotic education in the EU, NATO countries, and China, and substantiates the need to adapt selected models to the national educational context.
