The purpose of the article is to identify the peculiarities of the subjective composition of socially responsible business and to define the role of each subject in the formation and development of a responsible business environment, in particular in the context of the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Socially responsible business is gradually covering not only large businesses, but also representatives of small and medium-sized businesses. It should be noted that the implementation of relevant measures within the framework of the concept of social responsibility of business has various forms and features that depend on the resource potential and organisational and economic capabilities of a particular enterprise. The key role in ensuring socially responsible business is played by its subjects and participants. At the same time, Ukrainian legislation does not clearly define their circle, which leads to gaps in legal regulation and complicates the formation of an effective business environment based on social responsibility. It is emphasised that socially responsible business includes not only private companies, but also state and municipal enterprises, as well as companies in which the State or a territorial community has a dominant share. The main participants of socially responsible business are identified: employees, consumers, territorial communities and business entities. The latter, in turn, should be classified into: partners (companies bound by contractual obligations), competitors (companies engaged in competing activities) and other business. It is noted that, just as socially responsible business affects individual stakeholders, so various participants form and contribute to the development of a socially responsible business environment. The key groups that shape public demand and contribute to the development of socially responsible business are identified: society, the state and business. The expediency of determining the main executive body responsible for the formation and implementation of the state policy in the field of socially responsible business is argued.
