The Relationship Between Humans and Beneficence in the Qur’an Based on Anthropological Foundations

Understanding humans in anthropology is of great significance, as it examines, analyzes, and explores one or more dimensions of human existence. In religious texts, when humans attain self-knowledge or self-awareness, they can become beings capable of perfection and achieve lofty and sublime goals. One pathway to self-knowledge is beneficence, which, through adherence to Qur’anic teachings, allows humans to progress toward their elevated human goals and attain true perfection and happiness. This study employs a descriptive and analytical method, aiming to examine the anthropological foundations of beneficence in the Qur’an. The findings indicate that the primary axes of the anthropological foundations of beneficence in the Qur’an include human beings and divine love, humans as servants of beneficence, humans in proximity to God, humans as manifestations of divine beneficence, and the glad tidings of friendship. Humans can access these foundations when they correctly recognize their position, grandeur, and dignity in the universe and strengthen their relationship with the Creator of existence. This process fosters a transformative force within them, enhances their sense of responsibility, profoundly influences their interpersonal relationships, encourages them toward charitable actions, and elevates the peace of mind within the community while benefiting themselves as well.
