Materiovigilance is essential for patient safety by monitoring the adverse events associated with medical devices. This study aimed to develop and validate a Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) questionnaire on materiovigilance and assess its reliability through a pilot study. A 45-item questionnaire was developed with 15 items each for knowledge, attitude, and practice. Content validity was evaluated by 15 experts using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) with a threshold of >0.49. Items with lower CVR values were excluded. The Item Content Validity Index and Scale Validity Index (S-CVI) were calculated, and the face validity was assessed. A pilot study was conducted to assess the program's impact. The questionnaire was administered as a pre-test, followed by the program, and was readministered 21 days later. Reliability was tested using Cronbach's alpha. The CVR analysis led to the removal of 12 items, and four additional items were excluded based on item-level validity. The S-CVI was 0.95, indicating excellent content validity. Facial validity resulted in removing five items, yielding a final 24-item questionnaire (eight questions each for knowledge, attitude, and practice). The pilot study results showed significant improvements in KAP scores following the awareness program. Reliability testing yielded a Cronbach's alpha of 0.91. This study validated the KAP questionnaire to assess dentists' knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding materiovigilance. A pilot study showed that educational programs improved awareness and practice. This emphasizes the need for continuous education among dental practitioners to address the risks associated with dental devices.
