The article is devoted to the development of the general education system in the municipality of Yekaterinburg. Special attention is paid to the problems of shortage of educational institutions and places in them. The results of a sociological survey of Yekaterinburg residents (December 2024, N=103) are presented. The necessity of creating a network of specialized institutions for migrant children, teaching them the Russian language, intercultural communication, customs and traditions of Russian society, is substantiated. The authors conclude that it is necessary to improve urban planning legislation and integrate government authorities, educational institutions and the business community in solving problems in the field of school education.
